If you have those times when you get overwhelmed with strong feelings give this a try.....
Here’s a really useful approach to handling feelings of anger, sadness, jealousy and so much more.
To remember this method, just think of Triple A.
Aware - Take a minute to be fully aware about what you're feeling. You'd be surprised how many people don't do this and act out because they are not fully aware of what they are feeling.
Accept - Even if it seems irrational, accept the way you feel. Even if you can logically think of a reason why you shouldn’t be feeling this way, just accept that you do. That means you are allowed to feel jealous or envious or angry.
Articulate - Say it out loud, to yourself. Articulate what the feeling is. You can do this in private, if it'll make you feel better.
Your feelings are like a class of children all calling out “look at me, listen to me” They want to be listened to and acknowledged. Closing them down doesn’t help them go away.
When you use the triple A approach they will go away very quickly because they have been heard. Try it and share it - the more you do it the easier it will become. ❤️
